The Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Center is the meeting point for various artistic branches and the public who love music, theater, dance and cinema, who will be able to enjoy these expressions throughout the year. the June Festival 2026.

In its 21st edition, this festival dedicated to national and foreign art will be held until June 28 and will offer various activities, some free and others at low cost, so that everyone can enjoy the arts distributed in different spaces of the National Theater, such as the Great Hall “Efraín Recinos”, Behind the Scenes, the Chamber Theater “Hugo Carrillo” and the Open Air Theater.

For the week of June 16 to 21, there are a variety of activities scheduled, including “Tikal: The City of Voices,” which narrates, through ballet, the encounter between young people and the animals of the Guatemalan tropical forest, where nature reflects our roots and identity.

“La Llorona de Guatemala” will also be presented, which will take the public to witness how Juana begins to be harassed by apparitions of La Llorona, who follows her due to an alleged curse that falls on her and the child she is expecting.

Sebastián Alarcón, known for being one of the most recognized imitators of the Guatemalan singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona, will arrive at the Gran Sala “Efraín Recinos” to present his “Tribute to Ricardo Arjona”, which will take the public on a tour of his greatest hits. In addition, he will be accompanied by the original showgirl Flor Lenz and Guatemalan musicians.

The program offers a range of activities for the whole family, with cinema, theatre, dance and concerts. These are the activities scheduled for this week.
