For this weekend, Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21, Insivumeh predicts rain and temperatures of up to 40°C in Guatemala.

During the day, areas with fog are expected in the early morning and evening hours, as well as a warm and humid environment.

Rain accompanied by electrical activity is also expected from the southern regions to the center of the country during the afternoon and evening.

According to Insivumeh, the rains forecast for this weekend are associated with local conditions, the entry of humidity from both coastlines and the passage or approach of waves from the east.

In the Motagua region and the valleys of Oriente there will be little cloudiness, alternating with partially cloudy periods, as well as a warm and humid environment during the day.

Then an increase and development of cloudiness is expected in the afternoon, with the possibility of scattered rains and electrical activity. Maximum temperatures will range between 38°C and 40°C.

For the Pacific regions, warm and humid conditions are also expected during the day. In addition, moderate rains accompanied by electrical activity could be recorded. The wind will blow from the southwest, light. The thermometer could read between 34°C and 36°C.

Meanwhile, on the central plateau, including the capital, there will be little cloudiness, alternating with partly cloudy periods, and a warm and humid environment. Drizzles or rain with electrical activity are not ruled out. The wind will predominate from the south and southwest, light to moderate, during the afternoon.

For the capital, maximum temperatures will range between 27°C and 29°C; in the central and western highlands, between 24°C and 30°C.

The Northern region, Alta Verapaz, the Caribbean and the Northern Transversal Belt will register a warm and humid environment, with the possibility of drizzle or rain accompanied by electrical activity during the afternoon and night. Maximum temperatures will range between 28°C and 40°C.
