Vinicio Hernández came to Prensa Libre at the age of 18—in 2000—to cover a vacation in the circulation area. Thanks to his efforts, he stayed working, he rose through the ranks and has now accumulated 26 years of experience, the last four as head of Circulation at the national and departmental level.
Hernández comments that the essence of his work is passion and commitment, since he and his team, made up of 10 people, do not have a specific schedule because they must be attentive to national events and make strategic decisions so that the printed edition reaches every home every day, without fail. He also considers positive how the medium has adapted and has been the first to venture into the digital field.
“I feel proud to be part of Prensa Libre. I have seen it grow, transform and reinvent itself in the digital era.”
Vinicio Hernandez
Legacy
Hernández remembers that his father, Fernando, worked for 25 years at Prensa Libre as an operator. He manually melted and arranged the lead letters for each news story. Later he was a collator and production manager. “Prensa Libre has been a medium that maintains its ethics and commitment to the audience to be what it is today,” he says.
