The France coach, Didier Deschamps, will not be able to lead the training sessions prior to the match against Norway nor will he be on the bench in the last match of the group stage (Group I), scheduled for next Friday, due to the death of his mother.

As reported this Tuesday by the French Football Federation (FFF) in a statement, the coach returned to France after hearing the news in the morning, in order to accompany his family and attend the funeral.

For this reason, Deschamps will not participate in the immediate preparation of the commitment corresponding to the French team’s concentration.

The president of the FFF, Philippe Diallo, who is with the team during the World Cup in the United States, indicated that the coach left his assistant Guy Stéphan in charge of the group, who will assume technical duties until his return.

In the statement, the French Football Federation expressed its support for the coach and his family “in this very painful moment”, in addition to reiterating the institutional support of the entire organization.
