Judge Delmar González will resolve on July 3 the petition of Luis Gómez, who seeks the return of properties that belong to the company Tecnología y Proyectos SA, of which he is the legal representative.
The properties were immobilized in 2016. According to the Property Forfeiture Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry, these would have been acquired illicitly and the origin of the money used to purchase the assets is being investigated.
The properties whose return Gómez requests are 25 and are located in the departments of Guatemala, Escuintla and Petén, according to the prosecutor’s office. Furthermore, this entity maintains that said assets would have been acquired with funds from the project for the implementation of the Transurbano.
During the hearing on June 25, Gómez, through his defense attorney, argued that the return of the assets is appropriate, after the second criminal judge Mario Hichos closed the process in his favor on June 20, 2025.
Gómez was accused of the crimes of illicit association, embezzlement and laundering of money or other assets in the case related to the implementation of the prepaid system for Transurbano buses, in which the investigation indicated the diversion of funds.
