In that sense, the team from the Air Accident and Incident Investigation Unit (UIA) of the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC) is already in San Miguel Pochuta to gather information about the accident of the TG-PIP aircraft, while the rescue operation progresses.
Officer José Puerta, of the Volunteer Firefighters, explained how the extraction tasks will be carried out in the area.
He indicated that the search work began on Saturday, when the aircraft was located, and that the tasks were carried out with some difficulties; However, they already have rescuers on site and this Sunday they plan to begin the extraction of one of the crew members.
They also plan to extract two rescuers who have remained in the area since Saturday night and transfer two others with the extraction team, since the objective is to recover the bodies of the two victims.
According to authorities, two of The deceased are Jorge Samayoa Delgado and Javier Luengo Delgado, who died in the accident that occurred on Friday.
The Guatemalan Army reported that, through the Humanitarian and Rescue Brigade and the Guatemalan Air Force, it continues with the search, rescue and recovery efforts of the crew of the crashed aircraft in the vicinity of the Unión Victoria village, San Miguel Pochuta.
He added that, due to the terrain and weather conditions, he increased the specialized personnel deployed in the area to strengthen search operations.
The actions are carried out by ground teams that advance towards the accident site to continue with the tasks of locating, recovering and extracting the crew members.
He indicated that these operations are carried out in coordination with the institutions that make up the response system.
