The National Civil Police (PNC) reported that they located 70 special explosive devices during an inspection in a warehouse located at kilometer 25 of the highway to El Salvador.
He explained that these are explosive articles for technical and professional uses, classified, according to international regulations on the transport of dangerous goods, as UN0432 (risk class 1.4S).
He added that, after the discovery, agents from the Weapons and Explosives Investigation and Deactivation Division verified each box and artifact.
The agents located the 70 explosives during the inspection carried out on Wednesday, July 29, following a citizen alert; In addition, they verified that they were adequately protected.
According to the PNC, the discovery occurred inside a supposed parcel box that was supposed to contain vehicle spare parts.
The explosives were found in seven special metal boxes; In each one there were 10 artifacts, he stated.
The PNC indicated that the area was cordoned off and that specialists applied the corresponding security protocols for the protection and analysis of the explosives.
