This March 26, the MP and the National Civil Police (PNC) captured two men linked to a criminal structure called the Motoladrones, who are indicated to have killed the Guatemala Army Captain Ingrid Amanda Morente Catalánin an armed attack that occurred on January 21, 2025 on the Roosevelt road.
The arrest was carried out during 20 raids made in Guatemala, Mixco, Villa Nueva, Amatitlán and Palencia.
The detainees were identified as Daniel, aka Galen, indicated by the crime of illegal association, and Freddy, alias Gordoaccused of aggravated robbery and illicit association.
Together with these two people, another 7 men and a woman were arrested linked to the criminal structure.
The MP offered a press conference in which it explained how to operate this criminal band.
Thus the Motoladrones operated
Jonathan Orozco, fiscal agent of the Public Ministry (MP), said that the investigation managed to determine that this band operated with at least 12 members, who had specific functions, including coordinators, hitmen – also called squares – and collaborators.
He indicated that the group members moved in at least three motorcycles, which were previously altered the plate numbers or hid them with black adhesive tape, to avoid being identified.
The prosecutor explained that it was established that this criminal structure focused its operations in Mixco, although it also acted in other areas of Guatemala City.
Areas where they assaulted
The MP said that the places where these criminals operated were Mixco and the capital, but specifically in the peripheral, the Roosevelt, Doroteo Guamuch Calzada, San Juan Calzada, Boulevard Los Próceres, Petapa Avenue and Ava Calzada Atanasio Azul, among others.
It was also determined that, before the robberies, the members used to meet in businesses such as workshops, where they agreed to operate that day.
In those places they changed costumes and, according to the MP, after committing the assaults, they changed clothes again to avoid being located.
Schedules in which they assaulted
The investigation of the Public Ministry (MP) determined that the criminal operations of the band began from 3.00 hours.
Through the work of the Division Specialized in Criminal Investigation of the Department of Femicides of the National Civil Police (PNC), it was established that the robberies were committed in schedules of greater vehicular load, both in the early morning and the morning and in the afternoon.
In three motorcycles
Orozco commented that criminals moved in three motorcycles and a vehicle.
Locate victims
The first motorcycle had the function of locating the possible victimsidentifying vulnerability factors such as pilots were elderly, women or individuals traveling alone.
He added that they managed to identify their victims with greater precision by observing vehicles with little polarized crystals or with the windows below.

The car
The authorities added that the person traveling in the vehicle had the function of keeping the helmets and clothing of the motorists to facilitate that the dress were changed and were not detected.
Objects stolen by this band were marketed in Zone 11 and high -end phone prices were between Q5 thousand and Q6 thousand.
The MP also said that it was confirmed that at least 2 members of the criminal structure participated in the fact where the Army captain died in January 2025.
He pointed out that this March 26 was able to capture 10 people in the operations, who were made available to a judge. He added that the capture safeguarded the life and heritage of at least 12 people.
