The raffle, held in November 2025, achieved high citizen participation and allowed us to raise resources aimed at strengthening the medical work of the center, which has three operating rooms, 20 postoperative beds and specialized care in multiple pediatric areas, including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, pediatric plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate, among others.
At the closing ceremony, the prize was awarded to the winner of the raffle number 9227, who received a 2025 Toyota RAV4 truck, thus completing the process in a transparent manner and in accordance with what was announced in the call.
“The true value of this initiative is reflected today, when the funds reach their purpose and the impact becomes real. This is the result of a community committed to doing good and serving those who need it most,” said Estuardo Cuéllar Pellecer, president of the Rotary Club Las Américas.
The activity symbolizes the tangible impact of a cause that mobilized hundreds of people in support of the Moore Center, an institution recognized for providing free pediatric surgeries to low-income boys and girls in Guatemala.
The Center is supported by the Shalom Foundation, an organization that has had a profound impact on Guatemalan children through thousands of free surgeries, family support programs, and international medical missions.
“This delivery represents much more than a donation; it is new life opportunities for Guatemalan children who need specialized surgical care. Each contribution received translates into health, but mainly into hope and future,” commented Carolina Guillén, Fundraising Manager of the Moore Center.
The Rotary Club of Las Américas is part of the global Rotary International network, dedicated to promoting sustainable solutions in areas such as health, education and community development, promoting service as a driver of social transformation.
