“The question has always been for me: Are we alone on our own planet? I can’t imagine that we are alone out there,” said the renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg in an interview with empirewhen talking about his new film Revelation Day (“Disclosure Day”)a science fiction proposal that will delve into UFOs.
With this new film, Steven Spielberg highlights that Revelation Day It represents an answer to part of the questions that guided his career in science fiction, given that the topic of extraterrestrial life is one that has fascinated him.
In an exclusive interview with empireSpielberg stressed that his favorite films are those that address terrestrial problems, which is why this theme is mixed in his new production, in which social tensions are addressed in the face of revelations such as UFOs and extraterrestrial life.
At 79 years old, Spielberg highlights that his new film will open new perspectives within science fiction in today’s culture, as it returns to inspirations from his childhood, the amazement of science and family memories.
“I have seven solid decades of great personal interest in what lies beyond our atmosphere,” the filmmaker told empirehighlighting that life in the cosmos has always caught his attention and has been part of his inspirations, as well as what is inside the planet.
Featuring the music of John Williams, this film focuses on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), known as UFOs, and how humanity would react to the truth of extraterrestrial life, using conceptual elements such as crop circles.
His interest in the subject of UFOs was inspired by the disclosure of secret Pentagon programs, as well as leaked videos from the United States Navy in which they talk about extraterrestrial life, which gave him the idea of what would happen if its existence became public, which he will analyze in Disclosure Day.
Although he considers that many would like to know it, he also questions what consequences this truth could bring to humanity. Unlike other Spielberg productions, which move to the past or the future, this new film will focus on current society.
This new proposal has the participation of Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, Josh O’Connor and Eve Hewson, according to media such as Infobae. This film will be released in June 2026 in theaters.
