Felipe Staiti, Argentine guitarist and founding member of the rock band Enanitos Verdes, died on Monday, April 13, 2026at 64 years old, at the Italian Hospital in the province of Mendoza, where he was hospitalized due to health complications.
As the hours have passed, new information has emerged about the causes of his death. International media have revealed that the artist was in a recovery process; However, he suffered a relapse.
Staiti’s health had begun to deteriorate since 2024, when he was emergency hospitalized after a tour of Latin America, in which he also visited Guatemalaafter contracting a bacterial infection in Mexico.
In addition to this, the artist suffered from a celiac conditionan immune disorder in which gluten acts as a damaging factor for the small intestine, which aggravated his health, leading to an episode of deep dehydration and caused him to lose muscle mass and suffer damage to his vocal cords.
On that occasion they had to cancel concerts in Chile, Colombia and Peru; while the artist said that it had been a physical “reset” for him and said that he lost 15 kilos.
“I caught a bacteria in my intestine, in Mexico. It ended up depleting me of nutrients, all the potassium, magnesium, iron. It was a reset that I had in the colon. On December 31 he weighed 50 kilos. That is to say that now you are seeing a fat version of me,” he told Diario Uno, from Argentina, at that time.
According to the Argentine media The Clarín, Staiti was in the process of recovery and even offered concerts with Enanitos Verdes in Mexico on March 14, 16, and 18, 2026.; but later suffered a relapse.
Felipe Staiti was the only founding member of the band since the death of Marciano Cantero, in September 2022who died from kidney problems. In recent years he became the vocalist and main figure of the band.
The group had already scheduled several concerts from April onwards; even, planned a tour of the United States for June and July, together with the Spanish group Hombres G.
