The San Juan de Dios General Hospital reported this Tuesday, April 21, on the medical condition of the victims who were injured during an armed attack that occurred inside a cevicheria in zone 6 of the capital.
According to the official hospital report, a 50-year-old man died upon arriving at the Emergency Room due to the severity of the wounds to the abdomen and chest.
Meanwhile, one of the injured, a 31-year-old man, underwent surgery and remains in critical condition.
In addition, a 5-year-old boy, who suffered injuries to his chest and left arm, also underwent surgery and continues to recover and undergo medical observation.
According to preliminary information, among the fatalities is a couple from the Buena Vista canton, Santa María Ixhuatán, Santa Rosa. The victims were the parents of the injured child.
Testimonies and security camera records reveal that, during the attack, the parents tried to protect their son in the midst of the gunfire.
It was the afternoon of Monday, April 20, when unknown individuals broke into a cevicheria in zone 6 and shot four men and two women to death, in addition to wounding two other people, including the 5-year-old child, according to emergency services.
