However, his first concert had a full house in the Puerto Rican capital, where he presented his tour “What El Seco didn’t say”turned his return to the city of San Juan into a night of stories, complicity and nostalgia: “Things that only happen here,” Arjona added in their social networks, where he shared a recording of his last show.
Given this situation, the spectators enjoyed the proposal of the arranger Guatemalan, who opted for what best defines his career: The word, memory and that particular way of turning songs into shared stories. “Arjona took over of the Coliseum,” added the Puerto Rican media NPTE TV on their digital platforms.
The first of three nights in Puerto Rico
For Ricardo Arjona, his tour “What El Seco didn’t say” is a spectacle intimate and forceful that reaffirms his connection with the Latin American public, especially with the Puerto Rican, so the one born in the municipality of JocotenangoSacatepéquez, was aware that he had to appear more than twice in the Puerto Rican capital.
According to the Puerto Rican media NPTE TV, from the beginning Arjona was very accommodating, close and comfortable on stage. Between family stories, daily reflections and a repertoire that covered different stages of his career, the Guatemalan built an evening marked by nostalgiacomplicity and collective emotion.
However, the icing on the cake was the appearance of Elvis Crespoan American singer meringue of Puerto Rican descent, which added to one of the most surprising and greatest moments hubbub of the night, so the New York native accompanied Arjona verse by verse in the heart of the show.
Despite that, from his first appearance on stage, Arjona made it clear that this tour in San Juan would have gestures designed for Puerto Rico, given that he wore a basketball jersey with the Puerto Rican colors and number 23, a detail that did not go unnoticed among those attending, since the compatriot was basketball player in his youth.
“More than just a concert”
According to what Ricardo Arjona stated, the tour is presented as a narrative extension of his creative stage, which is why it was faithful to his reflective style and used the stage as a space to say what is often left between the lines in his songs. “Thank you all for your energy“, declared the Guatemalan at the end of his presentation.
Finally, according to the international information portal Metro Newsthe Guatemalan singer-songwriter’s show combined music, stories and a staging designed to highlight the essence of his lyrics, “those that have accompanied generations in moments of lovebreakup, nostalgia and personal questions.”
