An agricultural aviation pilot died after an aircraft accident occurred in the Obero village, municipality of Masagua, Escuintla, reported authorities from the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC).
The accident involved a Thrush aircraft, with registration TG-BUA, which was carrying out agricultural fumigation tasks in the spraying phase. The incident was reported at approximately 9 a.m. this Saturday, April 25.
As a result of the accident, pilot Luis Guillermo Jurado Muñoz lost his life, who, according to the DGAC, carried out his work with dedication and commitment.
The authorities indicated that the investigation process began to determine the causes of the incident. Furthermore, the DGAC expressed its condolences to the pilot’s family, friends and close people, and expressed its solidarity in the face of the loss.
The Guatemalan Agricultural Aviation issued a note of regret for the death of the pilot.
“Today the sky welcomes a great agricultural pilot, a brave man who not only flew through the air, but also sowed life every day. His work was essential for the field, his dedication admirable and his passion unmatched. He leaves us an immense void, but also a legacy that will never be erased.
