This Sunday, April 26, matchday 22 of the Clausura 2026 Tournament was played, the last of the qualification phase, which defined the final accumulated table, the eight qualified for the quarterfinals and the two teams that will lose the category.
Municipal closed as the most consistent team of the season by beating Mixco 3-0, consolidating itself in first place in the accumulated table with 86 points in what was a campaign of absolute dominance throughout the two tournaments of the cycle.
The day also confirmed the two relegations of the season. Achuapa had sealed his fate several days earlier, while Mictlán confirmed this Sunday its return to the First Division after drawing 1-1 with Aurora and not being able to add the necessary points to save themselves, in part because Guastatoya and Malacateco won their matches and definitively moved away from the danger zone. For the Conejos, relegation is especially painful since they had been promoted at the beginning of this same season and their time in the National League lasted only Apertura 2025 and Clausura 2026.
With the accumulated table already defined, Municipal leads with authority followed by Mixco and Antigua GFC in the first three places, while in the lower part Mictlán and Achuapa are the two teams that will accompany the First Division next season in what was one of the closest and most dramatic fights for permanence in recent years in the National League.
