Against “hemispheric threats”? The details of the new anti-terrorist strategy signed by Trump

The White House reported this May 6 that President Donald Trump signed a new national strategy to neutralize “hemispheric threats” and paralyze the actions of drug trafficking cartels.

White House senior advisor Sebastian Gorka indicated that Donald Trump signed the strategy on Tuesday, May 5.

“Our new anti-terrorist strategy prioritizes, first, neutralizing hemispheric terrorist threats by dismantling cartel operations until These groups are unable to introduce their drugsits members and its victims of trafficking in the United States,” Gorka said.

He also noted that the strategy will focus on “identifying and neutralizing” what he called “violent and secular political groups”.

“We will use all the tools that the Constitution puts at our disposal to locate them in our territory, identify their members, trace their links with international organizations such as Antifa and employ police tools to operationally paralyze them before they can maim or kill innocent people”he added.

The official announced that next Friday those responsible for the US anti-terrorism fight will meet with international partners to analyze the efforts of allies in the face of new American actions.

The strategy will be complemented by other actions that the US has carried out, such as attacks against vessels allegedly linked to drug trafficking and mobilized through the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific.

The new strategy will not only involve groups linked to drug trafficking, such as drug cartels, but also to other organizations classified by the US as threats.

Gorka mentioned that among the groups included in this strategy are “Islamic extremist groups” and “violent organizations with anti-American ideologies”.
