One of the most recognized artists worldwide, Shakira will be in charge of performing the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held between June and July in Mexico, the United States and Canada.
Known for hits like Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)which gave life to the 2010 World Cup held in South Africa, and La la laperformed for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the Colombian artist will present the official anthem of this edition.
“Dai Dai” will be the title of this song, which Shakira herself announced through her social networks this April 7 with a video recorded at the Maracaná stadium, located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the audiovisual, the singer gave a preview of the rhythm of the song.
Together with dancers and a choir to the rhythm of “Dai Dai”, an Italian expression that means “let’s go, let’s go”, Shakira presented the song that will be heard in different countries during the World Cup. The official song will be released on May 14.
Wearing a yellow t-shirt and shorts, similar to the uniform of the Brazilian national team, Shakira sets the rhythm of the anthem while dancing with several dancers, in a choreography that could go viral on social networks like TikTok.
Wearing outfits representative of various world teams, the dancers accompany Shakira to introduce the public to the party that will bring the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, “Dai Dai”.
With Caribbean rhythms, the singer presents this new musical mix that, so far, it seems that it will be performed in English, the predominant language in part of the region where the World Cup will be held, mainly in the United States and Canada.
Another surprise that the clip reveals is the ball called “Trionda”, designed for North America 2026 and used by the Colombian artist during the recording.
The scenery is completed with some official balls, such as the one from the 2006 World Cup in Germany or South Africa 2010. Oh-eh-oh-eh, eh-oh-eh sings the choir while the balls from those editions appear.
In a burst of lights and celebration, the clip asks the world “We Are Ready,” in reference to the proximity of the 2026 World Cup, which will begin next June 11.
This will be the largest edition organized by FIFA, with 104 matches and the participation of 48 teams in 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
