The selector of Croatia, Zlatko Dalic, presented this Monday the official squad list for the 2026 World Cup, a tournament that will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada, and that will mark the fifth World Cup for Luka Modric.

At 40 years old, the experienced midfielder, now a Milan player, will once again lead the Croatian team as captain and main reference of the team.

Croatia will bet on a combination of highly experienced footballers and young talents who have recently stood out in European football. Among them stand out the defender Luka Vuskovic, one of the revelations of the Bundesliga this season with Hamburg, and midfielder Martin Baturina, currently in the Italian Como coached by Cesc Fàbregas.

Several players linked to Spanish football also stand out, such as Luka Sucic and Duje Caleta-Car, both from Real Sociedad, as well as striker Ante Budimir, a figure from Osasuna.

The Croatian team was placed in Group L along with England, Panama and Ghana. The World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19.
