PNC soccer team obtains runner-up in world tournament in Mexico

The soccer team of the National Civil Police (PNC) obtained the runner-up position in the world soccer tournament at the police and fire department level, held recently in Mexico City, the institution reported this Monday, May 18.

The deputy general director of the PNC, Héctor González Prera, presented recognition to the 18 players who represented Guatemala in the international competition.

During the activity, González Prera ​​congratulated the agents for the performance shown in the championship and highlighted that the result reflects teamwork and discipline within the police institution.

“We are recognizing 18 warriors who participated in the first soccer World Cup at the police and fire department level. They obtained second place and also recognition as the least defeated goalkeeper and most disciplined team,” said the official.

He added that these achievements represent pride for the institution and demonstrate the effort that the agents make both in the sports field and in their security work.

The deputy director general also urged the members of the team to continue demonstrating camaraderie and commitment in the exercise of their police duties.

In addition, he indicated that this result should serve as an example for other PNC athletes who practice different sports disciplines.

One of the team representatives thanked the support provided by the police authorities and highlighted the effort made during the international competition.

“This team represented the National Civil Police with dignity in each playing position. Thanks to the efforts of all our teammates, we managed to bring this recognition to Guatemala,” he said.

PNC authorities indicated that they will continue to promote sports activities within the institution as part of the comprehensive training of agents and as a tool to promote values ​​and discipline.

González Prera ​​indicated that promoting sports among agents and youth can contribute to generating positive changes in Guatemalan society.
