On January 15, 2026, the trial began against Kevin Manolo Rivas Cordón, accused by the Public Ministry of plagiarism or kidnapping and murder to the detriment of his cousin, Litzy Amelia Cordón Guardado, 20 years old.
The young woman studied Social Work. On October 5, 2020, she was last seen while driving a pasola-type motorcycle in Teculután. A day later, his body was located.
After the kidnapping, Litzy’s family received a call demanding Q5 million for his release. According to the investigation, when they did not obtain the money, those responsible killed her.
The expert opinion from the National Institute of Forensic Sciences, to which Prensa Libre had access, details that the young woman was beaten, showed signs of having been forcibly restrained and sexually abused.
