With the broadcast of its last chapter, broadcast on May 31, 2026, the iconic series of HBO Euphoria surprised the spectators. Not only because of the fate of its protagonist, Rue Bennett, but also because of the announcement that the production came to a definitive end.
The news not only moved fans, but also Zendayawho gave life to the protagonist for seven years, three seasons and 26 episodes that production reached.
HBO released images of the last day of recording of the third and final season, in which the 29-year-old actress can be seen surrounded by her castmates and the technical team that has accompanied her since its premiere in 2019.
Hugs, tears, speeches, toasts, mixed emotions and a special party were part of the last day on set. Zendaya took advantage of the moment to address her colleagues and express the importance that Euphoria had in his life and career.
“I want to thank you. I am truly grateful to each of you. (…) Many of you have been here from the beginning and have seen me grow. It has been a pleasure and an honor. Thank you very much,” he expressed.
James Landry Hébert, the actor who played Harley, said that the production prepared a special celebration for the cast and crew, which was a surprise for everyone. After recording the last take, the disco lights came on and the music started playing.
“It was a great release for everyone. But everyone was crying. They brought out champagne. It seemed like the whole farm had become a club. There were cameras and everyone was saying goodbye and saying how much they enjoyed working together. It really was an amazing moment when they finally said ‘cut’ for the last time”he recalled.
During an interview with Peoplethe actor also highlighted Zendaya’s attitude on and off the recording set, and assured that she is a very focused, generous and present person.
“She’s one of the biggest stars in the world, but you wouldn’t know it when you spend time with her. “He is a very simple person and makes everyone feel comfortable to give their best,” he added.
Hunter Schafer, who played Jules in the series, also spoke about the bond he created with Zendaya when they coincided in production.
“I feel very lucky that my first great scene partner ended up being a soulmate. Z is someone I’m going to talk to when I’m old. “I love her to the moon and back,” he said.
Since its premiere in 2019, the series became one of HBO’s biggest hits and, During these seven years, Zendaya and other artists, such as Sydney SweeneyHunter Schafer and Jacob Elordi, saw their careers boosted thanks to their talent and the success of the production.
