During the night of Monday, June 29, a judge on duty ruled that Jorge David Rodas faces criminal proceedings for his alleged responsibility in running over a couple who were traveling on a motorcycle in a sector of zone 18 of the capital last Sunday.

Videos spread on social networks show the driver of a car getting out of his vehicle and observing that a woman is under the car. Subsequently, he gets into the vehicle, puts it in reverse and the wheels pass over the victim, who lies unconscious on the asphalt.

In the images you can see the driver fleeing the scene. Later he was intercepted by agents of the National Civil Police and a group of citizens who noticed the incident.

The victims were identified as Nidia Renata Bautista García and Kevin Alexander Jiménez. Both were taken to a care center, where they are reportedly in intensive care.

After hearing the accusation of facts raised by the Public Ministry (MP), the judge resolved that Jorge David Rodas face criminal proceedings for the crimes of attempted homicide and very serious injuries to the detriment of Nidia Renata Bautista García, and for the crime of negligent injuries to the detriment of Kevin Alexander Jiménez.

The judge decided to send him to preventive detention to the Preventive Detention Center for Men in zone 18, because the danger of escape was not eliminated.
