With 46 years of experience and an indelible mark in the music industry, Grupo Niche returned to Guatemala with a concert as part of the Niche Disco Tour, a tour in which he highlights the evolution of his salsa with a new album, without abandoning his classic sound.
Currently, the Colombian group promotes More than wordsan album published last May and that its members define as a work that expands emotional limits.
On Friday, July 3, the Majadas Forum brought together salsa lovers. Grupo Niche took over the stage, exuded talent and demonstrated the quality of their compositions and performances.
Before the presentation of the Colombian group, Attendees enjoyed the musical quality of Ensamble Latinoa Guatemalan group that made the audience dance from the first to the last song.
For just over an hour, the national group exuded talent and shared the excitement of performing international salsa hits.
Niche and the reunion with Guatemala
At 9:50 p.m., Grupo Niche took the stage and began the musical evening with Niche Modetheme of his recent album production. Then he interpreted How can I hide and He looked so much like you.
“Good night, Guatemala. Are the lovers ready?” said the musicians, who drew sighs with Romance 1a medley with fragments of hits like An adventure, Delivery and Let’s do what the heart says. In addition, they remembered the legacy of Jairo Varela, one of the founders of the group.

During the show, which lasted approximately two hours, Grupo Niche delighted their local fans. In the repertoire prepared for Guatemala he also performed More than words, Our dream, That day and Something that stays.
“Are we allowed to play a cumbia?” said the musicians. “Guatemala, this is pure Colombian cumbia,” they added before performing The racha canoe.
The connection with the “nichistas” at heart
The musicians recalled that Guatemalans have supported them since the beginning of their career and dedicated a segment of the concert to covering the songs that have marked several generations.
Colombian artists also stated that they have always felt a special connection with Guatemala and highlighted successes such as Without feelings, Raindrops, My hometown, Cali Ají, Buenaventura and Caney and Cali Pachanguero.

The Majadas Forum became a dance floor and salsa lovers enjoyed the Niche Disco Tour during the concert in the capital.
Support for the Colombian team
The musical evening had several emotional moments and one of them was related to the 2026 World Cup.
Before going on stage, the members of Grupo Niche celebrated the victory of the Colombian team against Ghana in a match corresponding to the round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With a goal from Jhon Arias, Colombia defeated Ghana 1-0 and earned a ticket to the round of 16, where they will face Switzerland on Tuesday, July 7.
“Good evening, Guatemala. Are there Colombians here?” the musicians asked.

“We advance to the round of 16 and now we go to Switzerland. Truly, we are very happy, blessed and pleased to be part of this wonderful celebration. “We really wanted to come to this country once again,” they added.
The response of support was heard throughout the venue and the attendees, mostly Guatemalans, celebrated the triumph of the Colombian team. They also shared the joy of Colombians and other Latin Americans who attended the Majadas Forum to enjoy the show.
The closure
The Colombian group demonstrated that salsa continues to be a living language, capable of evolving, exciting and dialoguing with new generations without losing the emotional, cultural and human depth that made it a universal phenomenon.
