With Madison Square Garden New York City as a venue, a sign that read “Just Married”, Adam Sandler in charge of the wedding officiation and a ceremony that united both families, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got married.
The wedding took place on July 3 and the few details that are known at the moment were confirmed by Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine, in a statement released Friday afternoon.
According to the document, both Swift and Kelce decided not to have bridesmaids or groomsmen. “Instead, his brother Austin Swift acted as godfather of honor Taylor, and Jason Kelce was the godfather by Travis. The ceremony brought both families together,” Paine said.
The singer’s dress and Kelce’s suit were under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson, under the house of Christian Dior Haute Couture, and were “the first time the designer has created a haute couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity,” the document says.
The objective of celebrating the wedding at MSG was due for reasons purely for security and privacy. According to journalist Emma Fitzsimmons, of The New York Timeswho covered the event, this enclosure “is a kind of safe where the paparazzi cannot enter,” and the singer could publish and disseminate the information and the photographs of the event “on their own terms.”
And under that same premise of privacy is how the newly married couple is planning their honeymoon.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s honeymoon
According to sources cited by the British media The Suncited by Infobae, the couple plans to visit the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and Oceania, on a trip they have been organizing for weeks.
Additionally, this trip is a “major priority” before the Kansas City Chiefs player returns to football training and advances into his final season in the NFL.
The British outlet’s source also indicated that the couple wants to be disconnected during that time. “Unless there is an emergency, they want to limit outside contact to fully experience this once-in-a-lifetime experience, before Travis returns to the football field,” Infobae quotes.
The couple hopes the trip will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, where they can be themselves and enjoy time together before returning to work, and they have asked their close circle not to expect to hear from them during that time.
For its part, The Daily Mail reported that the entire honeymoon will be recorded, although it is not yet known if the material will be made public.
