“An impossible love, a dark spell and a struggle between light and darkness bring this unforgettable ballet classic to life.” That is the proposal that the National Ballet of Guatemala “Christa Mertins” offers for lovers of classical ballet.
As part of its classical ballet season, the company will present this story, which leads to a battle between good and evil. With three performances scheduled, the play follows Prince Siegfried, who meets a group of white swans who, on the lake, transform into women during the night.
The story unfolds amid pressure for the prince to choose a wife. In this context, Siegfried decides to help Princess Odette break the curse placed by the wizard Rothbart.
At the enchanted lake, Siegfried promises to save the young girls, but this will only be possible if someone he has never loved promises him eternal love and fidelity. However, during the ball, the magician transforms his daughter, Odile, into a black swan, triggering a major complication in saving the maidens.
Thus, the public will be able to enjoy this staging, which combines love, spells and the battle between good and evil.
