Dreaming big was the deepest legacy that Jeanette Cárdenas sowed in his son Jean Pierre Brol. What began as a family game today is history written with medals and discipline, under the guidance of a mother who never stopped believing.
At age 14, Jean Pierre discovered his affinity for sports shot. At first it was just a curiosity shared with his brothers, inspired by his father’s example, Fernando Brol. But that spark soon became a fire: a passion that would mark his life and would vibrate an entire nation with each of his achievements.
Jeanette Cárdenas describes him as a quiet child, dedicated to his studies and with an unusual responsibility for his age. Over time, that maturity became a professional record. What began as a family tradition became routine, vocation and purpose.
Jean Pierre reached glory by winning the bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games. A year later, gold raised in the first stage of the 2025 shooting World Cup, held in Buenos Aires.
Behind each step was your mother. Jeanette was not a spectator: it was coat, impulse and support. He accompanied him from his first training to his greatest conquests, praying for him, believing in him and holding him in each stumbling.
Jeanette Cárdenas proudly said: “Jean Pierre was always disciplined in everything he intended. He has won several stars, no doubt thanks to his delivery.” In the interview she recognized in her son a gift, but also a will that was forged with work, faith and perseverance.
In a home full of men, Jeanette became the heart of the house. He knew how to be balance, tenderness and firm guide. “As a mother, I have worried about the a z: that my children are well fed, dresses, blessed … everything a good mother can do, with the help of God,” he said with conviction.
An childhood marked by courage
One of the memories that marked her most occurred in 1995. Her children were kidnapped and she, clinging to her faith, asked God to protect them, especially that Jean Pierre did not feel she was kidnapped.
“I had already taken my car four times, they had scared him, and he no longer wanted to walk with me,” he said. “But God kept it.”
“When he returned, he did not greeted anyone, he only asked for the phone to catch up with his classes. He did not feel that they had kidnapped him. Seeing his responsibility amid all that marked me forever,” Cárdenas added.
Faith, strength and every shot
In each competition, Jeanette puts his son in the hands of God. “My nerves were in the skin of leather, but also my hope. See him achieve what he dreamed with his father and brothers filled my soul,” he confided.
“Sometimes I got sick of worrying,” he admitted with laughter. “But I cling to Psalm 127: ‘If Jehovah does not build the house, those who build it work in vain,’ Cardenas also explained that” a mother clings to God to protect her children. “
From the stands or from home, Jeanette was always present, promoting with words of affirmation and love. “That is what I do every day: talk to them with faith and tenderness. Because that is vital for any child.”
The reflection of a firm guide
For Jean Pierre, the road would not have been possible without his mother. “One does not choose his parents, but I feel blessed because she taught me to believe that it is possible to achieve great things, even when everything seems to go uphill,” he acknowledged. “He always encouraged me to be disciplined, to do my best.”
His daily example was his greatest teacher. “My mother has deeply impacted our family. With her constant love and delivery, my brothers and I feel privileged to have her.”
Even today, already adults and with her own families, she is still the center. “He was almost never sick. And if he was, he never stopped being at the foot of the cannon. A mother’s work is impressive. Many say it is the least remunerated work, but we pay it with love and gratitude.”
A link that remains
Jean Pierre keeps the simplest memories with love: “I woke up before the clock sounded, and if I became ill, it was enough to touch the door: she was already there. That maternal instinct is not learned, it is born with him.”
“My mom was the center of our home. Dad was also very important, but she was the foundation that united us,” he said. “We were four men with dad. Now we are three brothers, and she is still our strength, our link.”
With a firm and excited voice, he said: “I have spoken with my brothers. We would not be who we are without it. Of all the good we have achieved, nothing would exist without their support.”

“I feel happy,” Jeanette concluded. “My children are my inheritance, a gift from God. As arrows in the hands of an archer … they are my whole: God and my children.”
