At what age can you request retirement?

Article 5 of the law establishes two modalities to opt for the state retirement:

  • 20 years of service at leastregardless of age
  • 50 years and at least 10 years of service

In both cases, the worker must have made the corresponding contributions during their time of service.

Requirements to request the pension

One of the fundamental requirements, according to article 36 of the law, is that the applicant no longer provides services to the State.

This applies to workers of:

  • State Agencies
  • Decentralized entities

Onsec authorities emphasize that this step is essential, since without verifying the termination of employment under line 011 pension payment cannot be started.

However, they explain that there is an exception contemplated in article 38 of the law: those who serve as professors or researchers from the USAC They can continue working and, at the same time, receive their pension for state retirement.

Documents necessary for the procedure
