A new video shared by the US Attorney’s Office in Washington shows Cole Allen accused of trying to attack US President Donald Trump during the White House Correspondents’ Dinneron April 25, 2026.
“Today we published a video already provided to the US District Court, in which Cole Allen shoots US Secret Service agent during his assassination attempt on the president at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner“, explains Jeanine Ferris Pirro, United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, in a publication on her official X account, last Thursday, April 30, 2026.
The images shared by the prosecutor show Allen the day before the attack hanging around the area where the dinner was held. On the night of Thursday, April 24, at approximately 8:59 p.m., the defendant walks through the hallways and gym of the Washington Hilton hotel.
On the night of Saturday, April 25, at 8:23 p.m., security cameras captured him walking through the hallways again. About 13 minutes later, He appears near the security system cordoned off by police and goes into a room for a few seconds; then runs away, evades security and shoots an agent of the Secret Service.
According to the prosecution’s account, Allen ran at high speed, headed towards the stairs leading to the ballroom and fired a shotgun.. Secret Service agents responded with five shots, without injuring him, and subdued him.
The incident left no victimsalthough the shots caused the evacuation of Trump and other authoritiesin addition to unleashing panic.
Pirro added that “there is no evidence that the shooting was the result of friendly fire” and assured that investigations continue to bring the suspect to justice.
Allen, 31-year-old California teacherhas been detained since the day of the attack and, according to his lawyers, he has been held 24 hours a day in an isolation cell.
On Thursday, April 30, 2026, he appeared at a hearing of about 15 minutes, in which he informed the judge of the District of ColumbiaMoxila Upadhyaya, who renounces challenging her stay in prison, a precautionary measure requested by the prosecution.
