A total of 26 museums, cultural centers, libraries and other spaces that protect historythe culture and art of the country, will open their doors this Saturday, May 16, 2026 to celebrate the traditional event A day at the Museum.
Each of the institutions will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., free of chargeand visitors will decide where to start and end their tour.
During those six hours you will be able to enjoy tours guided, children and family activitiesworkshops, concerts and various cultural shows prepared in each of the participating venues.
The organizers announced that there will be no bus service, so they recommended organize the walking tour, according to the proximity of the museumsas well as visiting each other’s social networks to find out about their activities and plan the schedule.
A day at the Museum 2026 It will be held this Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in 26 cultural institutions from Guatemala City, Antigua Guatemala and Petén.
The activity takes place every year and is organized by the University of San Carlos de Guatemala, within the framework of International Museum Day, which is celebrated on May 18according to the International Council of Museums.
It is recommended that you wear comfortable shoes, sun protection and an umbrella to better enjoy the tours.
