The National Civil Police (PNC) reported that the American citizen Richard “N”, 78 years old, was captured in zone 8 of Cobán, Alta Verapaz.
According to the PNC, the arrest was recorded on Tuesday, June 23, after a raid on a home where they discovered eight marijuana plants in the process of being used that he was growing in his patio.
The bushes are valued at Q3 thousand. In addition, agents seized 22 bags and four jars of marijuana, a scale and crushers.
“During the inspection, artisanal cookies made from marijuana were also found,” the PNC stated.
Richard “N,” alias “El Gringo,” was captured and taken to a hospital, under PNC custody, because he complained of health problems.
A similar case occurred last March, when authorities reported the capture of 12 people and the execution of 15 raids in Guatemala and Sacatepéquez for a case in which a criminal structure allegedly distributed drugs hidden in pastry products.
