The relief bodies reported that in the last few hours there have been armed attacks in Guatemala, leaving people injured and dead.
The Volunteer Firefighters went to 12th Avenue and 7th Street, Zone 1 of Villa Nueva, where a man was shot. They added that the victim died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.
They were also alerted about an armed attack on 27th Avenue and 10th Street, Zone 18, El Paraíso 2 neighborhood. At the scene they evaluated a man with gunshot wounds and determined that he lacked vital signs.
In another incident, a man was shot dead on the Los Olivos bridge, Progreso 2 neighborhood, Amatitlán. Authorities are investigating the motive for the attack.
The Departmental Municipal Firefighters reported that in the village of Sunzapote, Río Hondo, Zacapa, an armed attack was recorded inside a daily consumer products store.
At the scene, a man died due to the severity of the injuries he suffered in different parts of his body.
They also reported that in the village of Santa Luisa, Masagua, Escuintla, a man was injured by a firearm projectile in an upper extremity during an assault.
Charred corpse found
The Departmental Municipal Firefighters, in another report, indicated that at kilometer 141 of the route to Santa Catarina Mita, Jutiapa, on the side of the road, they located the body of a charred man inside a clandestine garbage dump.
