Alec Baldwin Rust’s trailer, tape marked by tragedy on the set

The first trailer of RustAlec Baldwin’s film that became infamous with the lethal shot in the set that claimed the life of its director of photography, was released this Wednesday, March 26.

The advance shows Harland Rust, the gunman played by Baldwin, escaped with his grandson, who was sentenced to gallows for the accidental murder of a cowboy.

There are things in life that have no going back, says Baldwin’s character in a scene.

In real life, Baldwin pointed to photography director Halyna Hutchins during an essay in New Mexico, in 2021, when the weapon shot. The bullet killed her and wounded the director of the production, Joel Souza.

Baldwin was accused by the State Prosecutor’s Office to violate security protocols for the management of weapons in the set, but his case for involuntary homicide collapsed last year for a procedural error, discovering that the accusing party retained evidence.

The Hollywood and Souza star rolled again on another set in the state of Montana and culminated the film.

The production will reach theaters of the United States on May 2, by the hand of the small independent distributor Falling Forward Films.

With images of a tombstone, a hanged and several shots, the trailer is loud by intense music and presents fragments of a sinister dialogue.

The advance shows Rust’s grandson, played by Patrick Scott McDermott; to the sheriff who pursues them (Josh Hopkins), and a ruthless rewards hunter (Travis Fimmel).

The clip concludes with a confrontation between gunmen in a small room, which remembers the scene that Baldwin rehearsed when Hutchins died.

The sky does not expect us, says Rust, before men draw their weapons.

The film was released at a Polish Film Festival in November.

When presenting the movie, Souza said he doubted culminating it, but it was decided when he knew that Hutchins’s widower wanted his final work to air.

Hutchins, an Ukrainian experimentist who grew up in a Soviet military base, was considered a rising star.

Baldwin did not go to the premiere and it is unknown if he will take part in the promotion of the film.
