Diaco files criminal complaints for possible speculation

The Directorate of Consumer Care and Assistance (Diaco), of Ministry of Economyreported that he presented 42 criminal complaints before him Public Ministry by possible cases of speculation in the fuel sales.

He stated that these complaints are the result of verification actions carried out within the framework of the Sentinel Planan operation that monitors the fuel prices at service stations throughout the country.

Diaco explained that, of the 42 complaints, 17 are based on verifications carried out at service stations in the country.

While 25 are based on technical information provided by the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

According to Diaco, during these verifications significant increases in fuel prices were detected at some stations, which may not correspond to market conditions or external factors that justify these increases.

He announced that he will continue with monitoring and verifications throughout the country to protect consumers and promote transparent prices in the fuel market.
