The crime occurred on March 12, 2024 in an apartment located at 206 East 31st Street, in Manhattan, according to authorities and media.

The victim, identified as Nadie Vitels, lived in the property, which previously belonged to his mother, who had died months before. The woman found Tejada with her 20-year-old partner, who began living there illegally.

Prosecutors claimed that Vitels told the couple that She left the apartment, but Tejada threatened to kill her.
