This Tuesday, April 21, the Chilean group Los Galos confirmed that they will visit Guatemala and give several presentations in the country. According to its members, it will be a reunion that they have longed for for more than five decades, because, according to their records, the last time they sang in a national venue was in 1973.
Currently the group is made up of Roberto Zúñiga (drummer, founder and director), Jorge Deij (keyboardist), Carlos Lorenzo Peña (vocalist), Eladio “Tato” Farías (bassist), Juan Ramón Suazo (guitarist), José Antonio “Toño” Martínez (trumpeter), and Leo Guzmán (saxophonist). In addition, Rodrigo Espinoza (sound engineer) supports them.
With successes like Love for you, How I wish to be your love, Him or me, Love, Love, I need you, Details, Total surrender, A minute of your love, Beloved lover and What do you expect from meLos Galos have conquered hearts in Latin America since 1963.
Regarding their return to Guatemala, the musicians stated that it will be a shared and two-way gift, because they know of the affection of their local admirers, but they are willing to surprise with an extensive repertoire because it is a pending account that they have to settle. “Returning to Guatemala after so long is a long dream come true”, “A dream return” and “A beautiful challenge”, commented Los Galos this Tuesday, April 21 during a video conference.
“It is a total happiness to know that we will return to Guatemala after more than 50 years, so get your throats and hearts ready, because our songs will be sung with all the feelings,” they added.
Los Galos added that, due to the different musical proposals that exist today, the public continues to be hooked on their songs because they are linked to love.
“As long as there is a man and a woman on Earth, there will be love and romance. We believe that is it and perhaps fashions can change, but as long as they are in love, the heart goes there. That is why we believe that people listened to our music with their hearts and stayed there, grateful. Many hug us, some cry, others feel melancholy and everything is valid, but in the end, everyone gets excited and helps the story of Los Galos continue,” they concluded.
