The quarterfinals of the First Division of Clausura 2026 started with strong results this Wednesday and Thursday. Nueva Santa Rosa, current champion of the category, opened the day with a 4-0 win over Deportivo Gomerano that leaves them with a large advantage heading into the second leg. The Paneleros demonstrated their hierarchy of champions with a forceful performance that puts the Escuintleco team in a very complicated situation.
Suchitepéquez also took advantage by coming back against Chiquimulilla at the Carlos Salazar Hijo Stadium with goals from Selvin Barlovento and Jorge Matul, in what was one of the most exciting series of the day.
For its part, Coatepeque FC tied against Deportivo San Pedro at the Israel Barrios Stadium, while Deportivo Iztapa and Chichicasteco FC also tied 0-0 at the Tzocoma Municipal Stadium, leaving both series open for the second leg.
With the first leg results already defined, the four series have very different panoramas for the return matches that will be played this Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. While some teams arrive with a comfortable advantage to sustain the result, others will have to overcome adverse scores if they want to stay alive in the competition for the Clausura 2026 title of the Guatemalan First Division.

Open series
The second legs of the quarterfinals will be played this Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26, with the four series offering very different panoramas. Nueva Santa Rosa arrives as the most comfortable team with its 4-0 win, although Gomerano will try to make history in its stadium.
Suchitepéquez also arrive with an advantage but with nothing assured, while the series between Iztapa and Chichicasteco, and Coatepeque FC vs. Deportivo San Pedro FC were completely open after the draws obtained in the first leg and will be decided in the ninety minutes on Sunday. The four winners will advance to the semifinals of the tournament.
