The Paris Saint-Germain coach, Luis Enrique, acknowledged that andBayern Munich has been the most difficult rival they have faced this season and warned that, to advance to the final of the Champions Leagueyour team must show its best version.
“It’s the toughest opponent of the year. We’re going to need to be more competitive than ever,” said the Spanish coach in advance of the second leg of the semifinals.
Luis Enrique did not rule out a duel similar to the first leg, which ended 5-4 in favor of PSG, and highlighted that neither team feels inferior, which increases the intensity of the confrontation.
“The second leg is usually different, but this time it may not be like that. Neither accepts that the other is superior,” he explained.
The coach also recalled his good record at the Allianz Arena, where he already played in a semifinal in 2015 with Barcelona, the year in which they won the Champions League.
“It is a stadium that brings back good memories,” he commented. In addition, he valued the ability of both teams to overcome difficult moments and assured that PSG has grown, especially in its away games.
“We are not going to go out and defend the advantage. We also want to win in Munich. We have come this far because of our work and now we have to take another step,” he said.
Luis Enrique insisted on the importance of controlling emotions and taking advantage of the experience acquired last season. “We have a small advantage, but it doesn’t mean anything. Both teams were able to win. It will be key to manage the game well,” he concluded.
