Over two decades, the 100 Points Teacher Award has distinguished 230 winners who, with dedication and commitment, have transformed the lives of thousands of children and young people.
Participants may register in the following categories:
- Pre-primary, Primary and Middle Level teachers. (Official and private sector; all modalities)
- Pre-Primary level directors – Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle Level (official sector).
Teachers will be taken into account for their mastery of curricular areas, the innovative and effective strategies they implement to help students learn, as well as the collaboration they carry out with their colleagues and families.
In the case of directors, actions focused on student learning, support for their teaching team, the quality of pedagogical strategies, coordination with the educational community and projects that promote the development of competencies and skills in students will be valued.
“We need good practices to be known and implemented in the majority of educational centers, so we will be able to impact the quality of education, through transformative methodologies,” said Verónica Spross de Rivera, executive director.

During the launch event, BANRURAL’s Marketing Manager, Carlos Granados, expressed his satisfaction at being part of this noble initiative that recognizes the efforts of those who work to provide quality education. Mrs. Sonia Hurtarte, executive director of the Paiz Foundation for Education and Culture, one of the sponsoring entities, pointed out the importance of recognizing teachers and directors for their outstanding work and for the positive impact they have left on generations of students throughout the country.
It was reiterated that teachers and directors have a leading role in building quality education, through welcoming classrooms, dynamic strategies and effective learning environments. Interested parties can consult the complete bases and send their proposals through the teacher100points.org.gt.

Ana Cristina Estrada, coordinator of the Award, detailed the participation process. The bases are available on the website teacher100points.org.gtwhere there is also a QR Code to facilitate access. This code will be visible on posters distributed in Banrural agencies throughout the country. He highlighted that the registration platform is simple, secure and that the proposals will be evaluated by specialists and experts in education through a meticulous process of analysis, verification and systematization.
To motivate their colleagues to participate, three winners of the 2025 edition participated; Marielena Morales director, Francisco Quiñonez and Reyna Isabel Marroquín.

“Education is the fundamental pillar of society and teachers are the true heroes who shape the future of Guatemala. With this Award, educators are being motivated to share their assertive actions in strategies to achieve learning,” said Emmanuel Seidner Aguado, president of Entrepreneurs for Education.
The Vice Minister of Extracurricular and Alternative Education, Dr. Carlos Aldana participated in the event, commenting on the importance of recognizing and disseminating teachers who make a difference.

For his part, Mr. Oscar Chamalé, Marketing Director of Aseguradora Rural, reaffirmed the commitment of his institution, announcing that the winners will receive health insurance as part of the prizes.
This year the Rafael Landívar University will serve as the academic headquarters of the Qualifying Jury. For this edition, 12 winners will be recognized. The organization thanked all the sponsors for being part of the recognition, as well as the collaboration of universities, companies, foundations, international entities, media and the Ministry of Education, whose support has been key to the success of the award.
