A large fire consumed several vehicles and a home this Tuesday, May 19, on 18th Street and 9th Avenue in the Aurora 2 neighborhood, zone 13 of the capital, reported the Municipal Firefighters and Volunteer Firefighters.

According to rescuers, the fire started in a grassland area and quickly spread to a simple construction structure used to store various materials, as well as to cars and a motorcycle parked at the site.

The emergency forced the Municipal Fire Department to mobilize more than 12 elements and nine motor pumps to control the advance of the flames. Rescuers worked for several hours to prevent the fire from reaching other nearby areas.

The Volunteer Firefighters also supported the firefighting efforts, because the incident compromised a forest area and structures close to the affected sector.

So far there have been no reports of injuries or the causes of the fire.
