Joaquín Guzmán Loera, alias “El Chapo”would have once again requested his extradition to Mexico and, in a new letter published this Tuesday, denounced that the The jury that convicted him in 2019 was “intimidated by the position of the judiciary.”

The letters were published this May 19 by a federal court in New York, where the founder of the Sinaloa cartel He stated that he was looking for “prosecute him for facts” both in Mexico and in the United States.

“The jury in my trial was intimidated by the stance of the judiciary, and the lack of evidence was not sufficiently solid enough to dismiss my case“, Guzmán wrote in one of his letters.

Guzmán also denounced that the “way in which it should be applied the law in federal courts” has not been correct in his case.

In one of the letters published this Tuesday, “El Chapo” stated that Justice holds him responsible for “acts of violence that were committed by the Government of Mexico.”

The drug trafficker also insisted that he never “escaped” from a United States prison.

“There is no risk that justifies denying my request to the light of foreign laws and legal policy,” Guzmán reiterated.

Finally, Guzmán insisted that the federal courts “must correct” the verdict against him “due to judicial abuse and the intimidation exerted on the authority of the jury”.

In addition, he asked for “better conditions” regarding visitation policies, so that his wife and daughters can see him.

Currently, “El Chapo” is in the ADX Florence maximum security prison, in Colorado, after being sentenced to life sentence and more than 30 additional years for different crimes.
